Directions to cruise port from London Heathrow International Airport:
By Public Transportation:
Check Southeastern or Raileasy to find a train to your convenience from
London to Dover. London stations may be either Victoria station
or Waterloo East station - and now the High Speed train leaving
from London St Pancras.
Either Take the Heathrow
Express to London Paddington Station and take either the Circle
line (yellow on maps) or the pink line to King's Cross St
Pancras, which is adjacent to the St Pancras International Rail Station.
Or Take the Piccadilly line (blue on maps) from
Heathrow Airport to:
- For St Pancras International Rail Station: Stay in your train, the Piccadilly line
(blue on maps) goes to King's Cross St Pancras, which is
adjacent to the St Pancras International Rail Station.
- For Victoria station:
Transfer at Gloucester Road or South Kensington to go to
Victoria Station.
- For Waterloo East station: Go
to Green Park. At Green Park, take the Jubilee (grey on
maps) line to Waterloo station.
(Other itineraries possible ; e.g. Heathrow Airport to
Hammersmith ; Hammersmith to Embankment ; Embankment to
Waterloo.) Once at Waterloo, you would still have to walk from Waterloo to Waterloo East train station (see map below).
In most cases, the High Speed train (leaving from St Pancras) is a better option (trip to Dover would take 1h10min. as opposed to close to 2 hours otherwise ; with prices fairly comparable between the 2 train options). I am leaving the directions to Victoria station & Waterloo East station on this page in case, for any reason, you decide that St Pancras is not for you.
The Port of Dover is a one-mile/20-minute walk from the town center, Priory Station and
Pencester Road. According to http://www.travel-friend.co.uk/ferryports/ferryports_dover.htm, "There is a regular shuttle bus service to the Eastern Docks Ferry Terminal, which operates every
20 minutes ( 7 am to 10.30pm ). There is a small charge for this
service."

Price:
- Heathrow Express: £16.50 when bought online
- Tube £4.50
- Train to Dover: £33
Alternatively, you may purchase a BritRail London Pass for $139, which would include unlimited
train in the region (valid 2 days out of 8) and 2 vouchers for Heathrow Express
(which can therefore also be used on a day other that the 2 otherwise
selected)
Time required:
- Either Heathrow
Express: 25 min.
- or Tube: 1h30min
- And train to Dover: 1h10min. by High Speed train (2 hours otherwise)
